Melissa Burdeos has over 20 years of massage and bodywork experience. She is a graduate of Austin (Texas) School of Massage Therapy and the Utah College of Massage Therapy. The depth of her training was the understanding that we must extract the wisdom from both the Western and Eastern teachings of massage, bodywork, and alternative health, and traditions. The Western teachings would include modalities such as Structural Integration, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy and Sciences of Anatomy, Pathology, Neuroanatomy, and Kinesiology. The eastern teachings would include shiatsu, acupressure, yoga, Qi Gong, Tai Chi and philosophies of traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda.

In 2010 Melissa moved to Asheville and met Michael Sitzer, a local Thai yoga massage teacher and practitioner and began training and assistant teaching with him. "Thai Massage embodies all of my life lessons of balance. My balance as a practitioner of this ancient art form, as well as the balance or dance between the therapist and the client. When I find balance myself, I can support my clients in their own personal journey towards balance and wellness." She traveled to Chiang Mai, Thailand and had the opportunity to study with some of the country's best teachers.

Melissa's philosophy is that the key to better health in the body is achieved through balance. From better balance comes wellness. She holds that intention with every session, spending
an equal amount of time observing her clients bodies as well as enacting change.
